12″ vinyl LP album design for “Pelican Suite”, the latest release from Maine baroque orchestral folk musician James Day Leavitt.

Each album is pressed on different colored vinyl, including a range of colors and splattered effects.

The album design uses a mix of typefaces including Daria Cohen’s beautiful Superfluous, Underware’s Dolly Pro, and an as-yet unnamed capital block typeface that I designed.

The primary image is a painting by Germany-based artist Madeline von Foerster.

“Pelican Suite” is a grand, sweeping and highly emotive recording—we are very pleased with how the LP turned out.
