We produced the TypeSketcher trio of type design sketchbooks with the fine folks at Scout Books in Portland, Oregon.

The inside covers feature illustrated essays showing users how to properly draw letters (overshoot, ascender ratios, type anatomy), as well as showing particularly intriguing samples of type design.

There were three sketchbooks: uppercase, lowercase and numerals/punctuation/symbols.

We designed a fluctuating 72-unit-tall grid to help folks sort out a full character set of a typeface.

The TypeSketcher trio was printed in Portland by some of the finest folks out there.
